Choosing the Right Weight
DK (double knitting) is by far the most popular weight in the UK and is the best starting point for beginners. It works up at a comfortable pace and suits everything from jumpers to baby garments. Aran is ideal for chunky winter knits and cabled designs. 4 ply gives a finer fabric perfect for socks, shawls and lightweight cardigans. Chunky and super chunky yarns produce quick projects and are popular for blankets and hats.
